Gary Lee Sampson
In 2017, Sampson, from Boston, gloated about murdering three people in 2001. He surrendered to police immediately after, where he confessed that he began by stabbing them, but switched to strangling because there was less blood that way. He's currently awaiting the death penalty.
She was married to the Scarborough Rapist, Paul Bernardo. They raped and murdered three women — including Homolka's little sister, who was “given” to Bernardo by Homolka as a Christmas gift. While recording the entire evening, they drugged her, raped her, and left her for dead. Homolka was released from her 12-year prison sentence in 2007.
He admitted to killing over 21 people and sodomizing over 1,000 boys and men. One of his most brutal murders occurred in the 1920s when he hired six men to work on a boat with him in Angola, and shortly after he shot them dead and fed them to the crocodiles. In his autobiography, he wrote, “For all of these things, I am not the least bit sorry.”
He brutally killed six female students, two of his grandparents, and his mom by the age of 24. After he killed his mom with a claw hammer, he had sex with her head, then called the cops to turn himself in. He's still in prison in California, and is known for being talkative and matter-of-fact in interviews regarding his crimes.

Alexander Pichushkin, “The Chessboard Killer”
Pichuskin killed anywhere from 48 to 60 people in a park in Moscow, and it's possible he was trying to compete with another notorious serial killer, Andrei Chikatilo. He said he was trying to fill the number of squares on an imaginary chessboard with the number of people he murdered — that's 64 people.

Wuornos was a sex worker starting in the late '80s, and killed a man who picked her up in 1989. She was caught and convicted for killing five other men, and was executed in 2002. Before she was given lethal injection, she said she needed to “come clean,” and spilled the details regarding her crimes to a camera.

Bell was 11 years old when she committed her murders, the strangling of a 4-year-old boy, and a few months later, the strangling a 3-year-old boy. After the first murder, she knocked on the boy's door, asking to see him. When his parents told her he was no longer alive, she said, “Oh, I know he's dead. I wanted to see him in his coffin.”
Lee Boyd Malvo, aka “The DC Sniper”
Malvo was 17 when he and an accomplice killed 10 people in the DC area over a three-week span in 2002. Their crimes were called the DC Sniper Attacks, and he was given six life sentences, while his accomplice was given the death penalty. In 2003, he told police that though not everyone they attacked had died, he'd hoped they would.

Edward Harold Bell
Teen girls started going missing in Texas in the 1970s along Interstate 45. Some bodies were found in surrounding areas, now known as the Texas Killing Fields. Bell sent letters in 1998 confessing to the murders of seven girls, claiming he was brainwashed to carry out his crimes — but not all of his claims have been proven. He's currently in prison for murdering a man in the 1970s.

Fish met up with a man named Edward Budd in 1928 with the intention of killing and eating him. But when he met Budd's 10-year-old sister, Grace, he decided to eat her instead. He then wrote a letter to Grace's parents, saying she tasted “sweet and tender.”

Original Night Stalker/East Area Rapist
From 1979 to 1989, a still-unidentified man murdered at least 10 people and raped more than 50 women in Southern California. Years later, he'd call some of his victims, and also called a counseling service, where he said, “I feel the urge coming on to do this again. I don't want to do it, but then I do. Is there anyone there that can help me? I don't want to hurt these women or their husbands anymore.”
Richard Ramirez, aka “The Night Stalker”
In the '80s, Ramirez broke into at least 13 random California homes through unlocked windows and doors, mutilated people, and murdered them — claiming Satan forced him to do it every time. In 1985, he confessed to police, asking to be murdered for what he'd done.

Starting in 1989 until 1993, Rifkin killed around 17 people in New York City and Long Island, many of which he dismembered and beheaded. In 2011, he opened up to casually chat about his crimes, comparing quitting his murder addiction to quitting smoking. He's currently serving 203 years in prison.

During the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago, H.H. Holmes charmed and lured victims to his castle of horrors, where he murdered them and hid some of their bodies in the walls. While awaiting execution in 1896, he wrote a confession detailing all of his crimes and why he committed them.

Dennis Rader, “The BTK Killer”
Rader was a respected church leader and family man in his hometown who bound, tortured, and killed victims (hence his nickname, “The BTK Killer”) — all the while tormenting the police with letters describing the murders. He pleaded guilty in 2005 in Kansas, and “matter-of-factly described” each of his crimes in court.

He admitted to around eight murders since 1976, where afterward he'd mix the flesh of his victims with animal meat. He would then sell the meat in burger form to unsuspecting customers at his food stand, and has said, “The words 'I'm sorry' will never come out, for they would be a lie.”

And Jeffrey Dahmer
He raped, killed, and dismembered 17 boys and men starting in the late '70s, and when police raided his home in 1991, they found body parts in the fridge. He sat down for many interviews before he was murdered in jail in 1994, where he revealed quite a bit about his crimes.
